The Story

Coming Home is a reflection of returning to the truest version of ourselves. It speaks of the quiet moment when the searching begins to fade, the weight we have carried starts to lift, and we recognise that home has never been a destination, but a place within.

Created through many layers of oil paint, soft passages of light emerge through subtle textures and gentle, atmospheric tones. Each layer carries the memory of those beneath it, revealing a journey shaped by resilience, healing and quiet transformation. Rather than erasing what has come before, the painting honours every part of the path, allowing light and shadow to exist together in harmony.

At its heart, Coming Home is about self-acceptance. It is the gentle unfolding of a life lived with greater compassion, where peace is no longer something we chase but something we begin to recognise within ourselves. It is an invitation to reconnect with who we have always been beneath the noise, the expectations and the challenges that life places before us.

Although inspired by my own journey, Coming Home is intentionally open to interpretation. It invites each viewer to bring their own experiences to the work, discovering a sense of belonging, comfort and hope that is deeply personal to them.
