Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain the basis on which original paintings and limited-edition prints are sold through the Mechelle Tebbs Art website.

By placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase and contact me if you have any questions.

Placing an Order

Please review the artwork details, price, delivery information and these terms carefully before submitting your order.

  • You are responsible for providing complete and accurate contact, billing and delivery information. Please check all details before completing checkout and contact me promptly if you notice an error.

  • Placing an order is an offer to purchase the selected artwork or print. After checkout, you will receive an automated email confirming that your order has been received.

    This acknowledgement does not itself mean that the order has been accepted.

  • Your order is accepted when you receive confirmation that it has been processed or dispatched. At that point, a contract is formed between you and Mechelle Tebbs Art.

    Payment may be authorised or taken before the order is formally accepted.

  • Original paintings are unique and limited-edition prints are subject to edition availability. Although every effort is made to keep the website accurate, an item may occasionally become unavailable after an order is placed.

    If I cannot fulfil your order, I will contact you and issue a full refund for any amount paid.

  • I may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance where there is a pricing or listing error, suspected fraud, a payment problem, an unavailable item, or an issue that prevents safe delivery.

    If payment has already been taken, the amount paid will be refunded.

Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to correct or cancel an order before it is dispatched.

Artwork and Print Information

Every effort is made to describe and present each artwork accurately. Please read the individual product listing carefully before purchasing.

Original Paintings

Each original painting is a unique, hand-created artwork. Natural variations, surface texture, visible brushwork and subtle irregularities form part of its individual character and are not considered faults.

Dimensions and materials are stated on the product page. Framing and hanging details will also be specified in the individual listing.

Limited-Edition Prints

Limited-edition prints are professionally reproduced from my original paintings using fine-art materials.

The available size, edition quantity, paper, border and framing information will be stated on each product page. Every print is hand-signed and numbered and accompanied by a Limited Edition Certificate of Authenticity.

Once an edition in a particular size has sold out, no further prints will be produced in that edition.

Colour, Scale and Display

Colours may appear slightly different depending on screen settings, lighting and the device used to view the website. Room images and digital mock-ups are intended to demonstrate approximate scale and appearance and may not represent exact proportions.

Please check the stated measurements before ordering. If you need additional photographs or information, contact me before purchasing.

Minor variations between the original artwork, website imagery and printed reproduction do not constitute a fault where the product otherwise matches its description.

Prices and Payment

Prices, available payment methods and any applicable delivery charges will be shown before you complete your order.

  • All prices displayed on the website are in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.

    Prices include any taxes I am legally required to charge. Delivery costs, international shipping quotations and any other applicable charges will be shown separately before purchase.

  • Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout. Payments are processed securely by the payment provider connected to the website.

    Your order will not be prepared or dispatched until the required payment has been successfully received or authorised.

  • If you pay using a non-UK card or account, your payment provider may apply currency-conversion rates or additional fees. These charges are controlled by your payment provider and are not included in the website price.

    International customers may also be responsible for import taxes, customs duties or handling charges, as explained on the Delivery & Returns page.

  • I take reasonable care to ensure prices are accurate. If an obvious pricing error is discovered after you place an order, I will contact you before accepting it.

    You may choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.

  • Discount or promotional codes must be entered during checkout and cannot normally be applied retrospectively.

    Codes may be subject to expiry dates, product exclusions or other conditions displayed when they are issued. Only one code may be used per order unless stated otherwise.

I reserve the right to change future prices or withdraw a promotion at any time, but changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted.

Preparation and Delivery

Processing and delivery arrangements vary according to the type, size and destination of the artwork. Full practical details are available on the Delivery & Returns page.

  • Limited-edition prints normally require approximately 10–14 working days to be produced, inspected, signed, numbered and packaged.

    Original paintings normally require approximately 5–7 working days to be inspected and prepared for dispatch.

    These are processing estimates and do not include delivery time.

  • UK orders are sent using a tracked and appropriately insured service. Most orders should arrive within approximately 2–5 working days after dispatch.

    Delivery costs will be shown during checkout.

  • Limited-edition prints may be purchased for international delivery, with available shipping costs shown during checkout.

    International shipping for original paintings is quoted individually. Overseas customers should contact me before purchasing an original so that a suitable insured delivery service can be arranged.

  • Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise. I am not responsible for delays caused by events outside my reasonable control, such as courier disruption, customs processing or severe weather.

    If a significant delay occurs, I will contact you and take reasonable steps to minimise its effect. Your legal rights regarding late or failed delivery remain unaffected.

  • You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

    If an order is returned because an incorrect address was supplied, delivery was refused or reasonable collection attempts were not completed, you may be responsible for the reasonable cost of arranging delivery again.

  • I remain responsible for the artwork until it is delivered to you or to a person you have identified to receive it.

    Once delivered, responsibility for its safe care passes to you. Ownership transfers once full payment has been received.

Cancellations, Returns and Refunds

Your cancellation and return rights depend on whether an order has been dispatched and whether the artwork is faulty or simply no longer wanted.

  • Please contact me as soon as possible if you wish to cancel or amend an order before dispatch.

    If the order has not been accepted or dispatched, I will try to cancel it and issue an appropriate refund. If it has already been dispatched, the standard returns process will apply.

  • For eligible online purchases, you may notify me that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. You then have a further 14 days to return it.

    You do not need to provide a reason for changing your mind.

  • Please contact me before sending anything back so I can provide the correct return instructions and address.

    You are responsible for the cost of returning an undamaged order. It must be securely packaged and returned using an appropriately tracked and insured service.

  • Refunds

    Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving the returned artwork, or earlier if you provide acceptable evidence that it has been sent back.

    The refund will include the purchase price and standard outward delivery cost. Additional amounts paid for express or enhanced delivery will not normally be refunded.

  • You must take reasonable care of the artwork and return it in its original condition, using the original protective packaging wherever possible.

    A reasonable deduction may be made where the artwork’s value has been reduced through handling beyond what is necessary to inspect it.

  • The right to cancel for a change of mind may not apply to artwork that has been genuinely commissioned, personalised or custom-made specifically for you, where this is clearly stated before purchase.

    This exception does not affect your rights if the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

  • If an order arrives damaged, faulty or materially different from its description, please contact me promptly with your order number and photographs where appropriate.

    I will arrange a suitable remedy in accordance with your legal rights, which may include a replacement, repair or refund. Reasonable return costs for faulty, damaged or incorrect items will be covered by me.

Copyright and Use of Artwork

Purchasing an original painting or limited-edition print gives you ownership of the physical artwork, but it does not transfer the intellectual-property rights in the image.

Ownership of the Physical Artwork

Once full payment has been received, you own the original painting or physical print you purchased.

You may display it privately, give it as a gift or resell the physical artwork. If an original or limited-edition print is resold, its Certificate of Authenticity should remain with it wherever possible to preserve its provenance.

I may continue to display photographs of sold artwork in my portfolio, website, social media, exhibitions and promotional materials.

Copyright and Reproduction

Unless expressly agreed in writing, all copyright and other intellectual-property rights remain with Mechelle Tebbs.

Artwork and website imagery must not be:

  • Copied, reproduced or printed

  • Used commercially or for advertising

  • Altered or incorporated into another product

  • Used to create merchandise, digital products or additional prints

  • Minted or used in connection with NFTs

  • Submitted to or used for training artificial-intelligence systems

  • Licensed, distributed or published for commercial purposes

Written permission must be obtained before any commercial reproduction or use.

Sharing Online

You are welcome to share photographs of the artwork displayed in your home for personal, non-commercial purposes. Where possible, please credit Mechelle Tebbs Art and tag @MechelleTebbsArt.

Unauthorised use of artwork or website content may infringe copyright and other intellectual-property rights.
