The Story
Sanctuary is an invitation to pause.
It speaks of the quiet spaces we long for after life's most challenging seasons, the places where we can finally breathe, lay down the weight we've been carrying and simply exist. More than a physical place, Sanctuary represents an inner refuge: a return to stillness, peace and the gentle comfort of feeling safe within ourselves once more.
Created through many layers of oil paint, soft veils of light emerge through delicate neutrals and luminous whites, revealing subtle textures that shift and evolve as the light changes throughout the day. Every layer reflects the beauty of healing, where even the marks left behind become part of something stronger, calmer and more complete.
Although inspired by my own journey, Sanctuary is intentionally open to interpretation. It offers a quiet space where each viewer can pause, reflect and bring their own experiences to the work. Whether it evokes peace, hope, comfort or simply a moment of stillness, its meaning is yours to discover.
A Moment With the Work
Spend time with the painting and allow yourself to slow down. Notice how its atmosphere changes as natural light moves across the surface, gently revealing new textures and subtle details.
