The Story
The Quiet Between Storms captures the profound stillness that follows upheaval, the rare and sacred pause between what has been and what is yet to come. It is a painting about resilience, reflection and the quiet strength that is found not in the absence of struggle, but in surviving it.
Built through countless layers of oil paint, soft veils of light emerge through atmospheric blues, gentle neutrals and luminous whites, creating a landscape that feels both expansive and deeply intimate. Every layer carries traces of what came before, allowing texture, movement and light to exist together in quiet harmony.
This work speaks of the moments when life finally grows still enough for us to hear ourselves again. It is in these pauses that healing begins to take root, not through dramatic change, but through acceptance, reflection and the courage to simply be present. Although inspired by my own journey, The Quiet Between Storms is intentionally open to interpretation. It invites each viewer to bring their own experiences to the work, finding comfort, meaning and possibility within its shifting light.
